After last year's Eurobike was cancelled due to a pandemic, this year's bike show can be held under strong Corona hygiene regulations with online tickets. Unfortunately, the Eurobike can‘t quite live up to its status as the world's leading trade fair for the bicycle industry this year, as overseas visitors will not be attending due to the Corona pandemic.
Even in these difficult times, the ergotec team from Humpert will be represented at the Eurobike with an adapted team of 12 employees and its own trade fair stand.
As part of various events on the occasion of the Eurobike, Cem Özdemir (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen), Member of the German Bundestag and Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the German Bundestag, visited the ergotec stand on the day before the trade fair to have the innovative products of the traditional company from Wickede demonstrated to him during a tour of the trade fair. Cem Özdemir was welcomed by Managing Director Willi Humpert and Vice General Manager Jens Stahlschmidt and shown around the stand.
The focus of the product presentation was on the ergonomic ergotec components, which connect the three contact points between man and machine. The ergonomically designed cargo pedal EP-C (ergonomic pedal for cargo bikes) attracted great interest. This pedal expands the exclusive ergotec pedals and has also been successfully certified as a medical product. Managing Director Willi Humpert emphasised in this context: "The product group of cargo bikes is becoming more and more interesting due to the e-drive. Whether as a transport bike for families or for the distribution of parcels in inner cities, etc., this vehicle category will gain significantly in importance. In this context, I also see the need for politicians to provide appropriate purchase incentives. This growing market segment will also become increasingly important for ergotec products."
Cem Özdemir expressed that he is a great friend and advocate of the bicycle and sees the bicycle as systemically relevant.
During the course of the trade fair, the newly relaunched website Richtigradfahren.de as well as the new and further developed MTB components were in the foreground.
In the run-up to the Eurobike, the interactive ergonomics platform won the Ergonomics Innovation Award 2021 from the IGR Institute (Institute for health and ergonomical e.V.).
The presentation of the new MTB products was successfully highlighted by ergotec rider Tomas Slavik's World Championship title in Fourcross at the UCI World Championships 2021 in Val de Sole, Italy. The ergotec handlebar and stem as well as the ergotec seat post used for the world championship victory were able to prove their high performance in the long term.
This year, the Eurobike will be held for the last time at Bodensee. In future, the world's leading trade fair will go to Frankfurt am Main. This is scheduled to take place next year from 13.07.-17.07.2022.
