The ergotec M-BAR i M is a 700 mm-wide aluminium handlebar for trekking and mountain bikes. Made from AL 6061 T6 aluminium with a height of 39 mm and a black sandblasted finish, it combines a distinctive shape with a sporty, comfort-oriented design. A key feature of the M-BAR i M is its neutral-axis geometry: the grip sections and the centre of the handlebar clamp are positioned along the same reference axis. This means the pronounced grip angle does not shorten the effective handlebar width. The shape can therefore support an appropriately aligned hand position while retaining the full width of the handlebar. Additional openings in the grip areas and around the handlebar clamp allow compatible cables and hoses to be routed internally. This can reduce visible cabling and support a cleaner cockpit layout. The M-BAR i M is rated at ergotec Safety Level 6. It is approved for a total system weight of up to 180 kg on city and trekking bikes and up to 160 kg on mountain bikes. The total system weight includes the bicycle, rider and luggage.
